Principal's Message

My name is Diana Lara and I have the honor and privilege of being your child’s principal. In getting to know me, I earned my undergraduate degree from Texas Woman’s University and my Masters from Concordia University Texas. I love spending time with friends and family and eating out. I am looking forward to a world of learning, creativity, love, and growth this school year with your students!

Our commitment at DeSoto is to provide a challenging educational program for all students within a safe, nurturing environment, which will enable students to function as productive, ethical and responsible global citizens. We have new technology in our computer labs, a STEM lab that enhances students’ creativity and each classroom is fully equipped with a SMART TV to create hands on tech savvy learning. We also have an open door policy for classroom visits on our campus and welcome our families to come learn with us. We request that you let us know 24 hours in advance so that we can ensure that there will not be a substitute in the classroom and that the class will not be involved in any testing.  You’re also invited to volunteer with the campus as often as possible!  You may contact our parent liaison, Carolina Silva, at wgreceptionist@goldencharter.org, to sign up and find out about all the different ways you can help!

With your support, guidance, and partnership, DeSoto students and staff are destined for greatness!!!  We are committed to work collaboratively to do EVERYTHING it takes to ensure high levels of learning and social emotional awareness for ALL. Our teachers and faculty work to ensure your child is prepared for the world of tomorrow. We are building tomorrow’s future!

I wish you all a wonderful school year.  If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me and know that my door is always open.  I can be reached at dlara@goldencharter.org . I am honored to serve as your principal.

Sincerely,

Diana Lara
